I have just handed my notice in, to start sailing full time, no more office, time sheets, bliss. The next decision is were to go, the med for the summer and then who knows!
Excellent news hisw! I'm almost there as well. Just waiting for a final few things to be sorted and will be handing my notice in as well in a few weeks - unfortunately 8 weeks notice. I then need to start the (fun) process of purchasing a yacht over the winter months.
Not at all - I am 25 and have just decided to do the same. Am off on the ARC in November and then down to Sydney to do Sydney-Hobart. Have no intention of working behind a desk ever again!
Renting my house out so mortgage covered, selling car and going. Taken me months to pluck up the courage but now I know I am going I cant imagine not going...where theres a will theres a way.....
Wish I had a house to rent, then would be no probs, but live in SE UK where min price of terrace house in ok(ish) area is £160,000 ! Or could live in Murdersville at £130,000.
You doing ARC on own boat or as crew ?
Racing not my thing, want own boat to go cruising slowly on. Med, TransAt, Pacific.
Reckon £15,000 - £20,000 on Twister or like. Then £10,000 for 18 months cruising.
I live in South of England and know what you mean. Hope I can rent the bloody place out though or am stuffed.
Am crewing on an Ocean 60 and theres only 4 of us on board so should be fun!
Well that was one of my reasons for going. I live in the south and the prices are so high. I dont want to be a slave to the morgage and then the desk as a consequence and I don't consider that 25 is to young as i am only 26!!
