I have been making up some quizs

I liked the ones did.
I did very very well on the cloud ID one. Perhaps because the names and description of the clouds were on all the pictures I even got the ciro cumulus one right despite being quite convinced it looked a bit Alto:)

I even did OK on the weather terms. This would only be due to being able to guess well after I got smooth wrong, Half a meter is smooth. Did the same with soon. I liked this one because I did learn a few things. Terms to be specific. Turns out terms are specific but you don't think about them sometimes.

I liked the definitions of wind. pointing out the gusts. this catches people out. wind force whatever gust can be quite a bit more.

A couple of wee bones to pick on the sound signals. Just being very pedantic. It was good.
The vessel constrained by its draft was a picture of a tug pushing a light barge, Which theoretically could be constrained by its draft. But I didn't see a cylinder. I just wasn't sure if the picture and question went together as intended.

The vessel being towed, I guessed right. But only if its manned. The manned bit is significant, most even multiple tows aren't manned and don't sound that signal.

I guessed the pilot boat ones right as well. Not quite in agreement with you. Both of them should be included in the 1 blast question. They are always required to sound the signal for a power driven vessel. on or off duty. pilot on board or not.
The H is an optional addition. The optional bit means they don't have to sound it. In practice most do not sound it all the way from the dock out the channel to the Pilot station. They can if they want.
Its an identification signal. Unlike other sound signals. To most vessels it makes no difference. Usually only sounded when they are approaching a particular vessel to drop the Pilot. So the darn thing doesn't later course run away or crash stop. This is the only vessel to which this signal makes a difference.
Though If you hear it and aren't expecting a pilot( I've never used one yet). Just treat it like a PDV.

The video questions my internet unfortunately just couldn't cope.

Thanks I did enjoy it and thought they were v good. I hope my pedantic comments are constructive.

Excellent quizzes many thanks Julie.

Great to have real life examples.

A very useful refresher. I found the fog signals particularly useful, I was quite rusty on them!
