I have a question

I have just had my launch renewal notice through from the wonderfully efficient Environment Agency!! Every year I correct the mistakes on the form and send it back with my fee. This year they have made the same mistakes again, so I decided to send them a sarcastic e-mail. I have copied it below.

Every year you send me a renewal form and every year I happily correct the
mistakes / details on it and then I happily send it back to you with my fee.
Every year during December I happily open the envelope hoping that someone
might have paid attention during the preceding year and corrected the
details on your system. Every year I am disappointed and think, what would
happen if I ran my business in such a inefficient way. My answer would upset
you so all I ask is that you go away, look up my records and send me a new
application form with the correct details on it so that I can pay you some
money.

My question is, Can anybody on the forum tell me if there is anybody with any intelligence running the EA and do they understand sarcasm?

Like most large organisations, different functions are performed by different departments, none of whom ever talk to each other.

So it is with the EA.

Even if you send your payment to Reading, the form is put in a box and sent to Peterborough (I think) who deal with the money.
You'd think that someone at Reading would spot the amendments, but no, monies go elsewhere, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.
Reasonable maybe for "internal control" purposes but not for you or me.

So do what I do, ring up Reading on the 0118 number, chat up Craft Registration, they respond to friendly customers; heaven knows it's not much fun working in a dysfunctional government tower block, and it might brighten both your days.

OR not if both ends are grumpy.

We sold our boat earlier this year, and I filled in the appropriate form and sent it to the EA informing them of the new owner’s details.
A few weeks later, I received conformation of the ownership change.

This week I received the license application form!

Why do we bother?
