who's a bit thick and has bought a new engine for his boat hoping it will go a bit faster. However cos the new gearbox is 2:1 compared to the old 1:1 he's selling his old LH prop and buying a new RH one without checking 1) the rotational direction of the engine,2) its orientation .. Is my watery friend a total clueless tit ?

Ya wee bauchle. Wha ur ye ca'in thick. Ah'll hae ye ken, that as a former mechanical enchineer, ah'm weel aquainted wi ra rotational moshun o' mah current means o' propulshun. Oh, an anither thing, as it's a displacement hull tha' ah huv, it canny go ony faster than it already does. Ah only changed tae get rid o' yon gasoline enchin as it wis gettin' awfu' expensive up here in Broadland, an bein' o' the same unfortunate nashinul persuasion as yersel, ah'm no ower inclined tae spendin' a shillin' if ah don't huv tae. A philosufy ye'll be weel aquainted wi yersel.

ah ken fine aboot ra impendin raise ra excise man huz in mind, but unless youse is willin' tae get yer rear end up here, then there's no an awfy lot gas available fur propulshun here, an ra petrol is almost impossible tae get here noo as weel. Mind you, they seem awfy keen fur us tae be usin yon elastictrickery but ah dinnae fancy yin o yon pylon thingy's oan the back o' mah wee boat. On the ither hand, ah could tie a sheet tae it and become a wind thief just like you an the rest o' yer saily pals.

Hi Lyn, boat's back in the water, engine should be in today. Boat all painted and varnished, rewired, new dash & instruments, batteries & boxes, charging system etc., but as I am now back in Denmark for a month, the rest will have to wait until I return. Intend being at Oulton Broad for the August Bank Holiday fireworks though. Berth already booked since April.
