Seems like Natalie missed out on a glorious opportunity. Can't say I'm surprised the anchor thread was suspended, though. Perhaps it'll reappear on a forum for m'learned friends.

Now since the thread has disappeared and the links with it, can anyone point me to a forum on which the same saga continues to rage?

Re your additional comment. I'd wondered about that, too. "Following a complaint from...." or just cold feet? Libel laws are rather less draconian where 'Anything Sailing' lives, although it has to be said that the moderator there has lately been pretty proactive in removing some contentious elements pending verification.

Typical - after a couple of weeks of silence I post another contribution early this morning and never get to see it in the flesh!

I log on now and the thread, and my stunning contribution, are suspended.

What am I going to do for fun now! I suppose I had better go out sailing and drop that big meal thing in the water and see if it holds, bends or drags

I'm sure it wasn't. Your posting was concise, clear, to the point and, I think it is fair so say, learned. Beautifully formed, wonderful use of words. As postings go it was one of the best.

Fair enough. They obviously do need to be careful, but it may be an idea for the moderators to pin Natalie's posting to the top of the page for a while.

I just hope that we'll be given the full story when the investigation comes to a conclusion.

The Anything Sailing forum will be running until the truth about the quality of Rocna's steel is revealed. They simply will not tolerate blind accusations without proof. A commendable group are certainly running this forum.

Unbelievable that CEO Steve Bambury did not just come out and tell the world what it was. Why feed such speculation and rumor? And it was clear that he was "imaginative" about their certifications. :confused:

One of the better posts in the AS forum is Maine Sail's sampling of Craig Smith / Rocna's defamations of competitive anchors in various forums. Maine Sail then responded to Craig's asinine nonsense.....post by post. See #365 on the page below:

Glad it is not just other anchor manufacturers who are sick of Rocna's BS, but one of their own customers as well.....

I was curious to see what Grant King was going to release after the 24hrs was up. Even if he was Whaleboy, he was in position to expose loads of stuff about materials and maybe was just using a fake persona to keep the flak off for longer. Or maybe he just uses the same internet cafe as WB.
I admire the AS site for moderating rather than dropping the thread. But can understand our hosts feeling after their experiences a few years ago.

Did you not see what SB exposed about GKs past personnal life? Much more serious than anchors.

I must admit, I nearly choked on my coffee when I read it first thing this morning. YBW can get petty and nasty at times but, true or false, that accusation was the nuclear option by any standards.

Good grief - I'd been following and contributing to that thread for at least three years and I missed the denoument!

Please can someone tell me what happened or will that get this thread closed down as well?

Steve posted a site that had Grant's name on for under age kiddy fiddling. If it was him, or somebody else, who knows. But it was a trying to divert attention. He was accused of trying to shoot the messanger. Dirty Pool. They certainly don't like each other....
 
Between here, AS and CF, I've just spent 4 hours catching up on these threads that I'd missed. Best forum threads ever!
 
Someone has built a house of cards and there are quite a few peoples hands poised over the On switches of a lot of industrial sized fans aimed directly at it at the moment. It sure is ugly in the background.

If you can imagine a Kindergarden where all the pupils are all drugged up on a sugar/Ecstasy/LSD blend and someone pinched someone else's tricycle, it's just like that only the pupils are older and appear to be thinking a lot less rationally.

Somehow I have to score the movie rights to this saga, there has to be a blockbuster in this somewhere :) :)
