I hate Squirrells!!!

Having eventually got the backboiler into my Morso Squirrell, I have now spent hours trying to get the grate-holder thingie back in.

Has anyone done this before and can they remember the sequence of installation? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Should come out of the water later. I knew that there was a reason why I normally get the boat lifted mid November. Any way, rather you than me though. I hope that damage has not been done.

Every time someone replies, my heart lifts and I think that I can take a fleece off but you're all just taking the p1ss.

I have a Morso Cleanheat Squirrel. I am not sure what you mean by the grate holder, as the grate on mine simply lifts in and out. The difficult bit was the firebox sides and top, I remember from the installation that there was a definite sequence in installing the internal parts, though mine does not have the backboiler. Without the backboiler I think from memory that the sequence was rear firebrick, cast iron inner top liner, then carefully juggle the side firebricks into place whilst holding the top liner up. I think it took several attempts to get it all together, and it may be possible to do it by putting in the rear firebrick last of all.

Once you get it going you will discover just how powerful these little fires really are, provided you use dry logs.

Without the boiler, it's a dawdle. With a boiler, you have to remove the Cleanheat bit, then the top, then put in this plate that holds the grate-holder, then the boiler, the side bricks and the Cleanheat. You then take a quick course in gynacology to get the bolts back into the top plate.

I wish I had the instructions on Friday as I would have saved untold hours of frustration.
