That statement will amaze a few people.
A couple of my Mobo friends suggested a run up to Titchmarsh for a BBQ on Saturday evening.
Weather was forecast ok.
All I had to do was put some fuel in the tank that had been emptied and cleaned to remove all traces of water and salt
Finally set off from Ipswich far later than we had planned....Peter...what have you done to Raider? She was stuck on the fuel berth with problems, eventually got out only to return because of another fault....
Had a little play, blasting up and down off Languard.
Up to Titchmarsh.
BBQ
Left about 10.00 Sunday to return to Ipswich with F4/5 forecast rising to F6 so we expected a lumpy journey back.
Nope......came out of the Backwaters, eased the throttles forward and cruised back on the plane at 16Kts, no bumps. The aspect on the water was outstanding. I could put my cold hands in my pockets and not worry about her moving off line....
Nice journey up the Orwell, except the boat with me had to veer sharply because Strata 6 decided to raise the main in mid channel right in front of him....with the northerly wind that meant they were setting the main and traversing across the channel...and obviously under power.......Now thats a sea school boat so it should have known better!!!!!
anyway after an uneventful lock in I was greeted by Marmalade just leaving....courtesy wave of course....
Back to the berth and being a little concerned that the wind would be blowing me off I had asked the boat with me to assist.......they did but it was one of those occasions when everything happened perfectly.
A quick chat with Wherry and off home.
And the boat didnt miss a beat the whole weekend!!!!!!
Hurrah!!!!
