I like gadgets and at a small electrical shop I bought a Radio Shack SWR Meter for £25 which means that I can test the new VHF radio I am to fit for signal strength.

The children also bought me a nice little brass plaque with the boat's call sign and MMSI number on it to put at the Nav Station - a nice little touch.

Fortunately I have no shortage of children to drop hints to! This however came about because they think the insulation tape and permenant marker version looks a bit 'tacky'. Apparently they found a company on line whee it was very reasonably priced.
