...Pictures of the yacht under sail. Our friends Richard & Ann left Selimiye with us for a quick trip to Orhaniye to pick up a car for a day out, and I found enough wind for a quick sail (up to 8 knots just after this picture was taken

your genoa isn't filling properly ...

reefing line is pulling on the leech ..

there - now that's go the picky bits out the way - why are there clouds in the sky?! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The genoa was fine, I had left the helm to take a photo of the other boat, and had luffed up slightly, but the full size photo shows the telltales flying straight, on bearing away a bit the speed went up to 8 knots in about 12 knots of wind so it could not have been too badly set.

The reefing line has to be replaced as it is a bit short for the new main with its reefing points a bit higher than the old one. I had put the sails up in a hurry in order to get the photos taken, and closed the jammers on the reefing lines before pulling down the vang tackle, instead of the other way round. Mea Culpa.

The clouds were not my fault, but yesterday was a day of clouds and a little bit of rain. The usual wall to wall sunshine has now returned.

You need to get the fat git out of the fore peak. Bet you gain about 0.5 knots once the bow rises just that little bit.

Well, it doesn't look like it is countering it, does it?

ah - excuses excuses (as I sit here with the wind howling through the rigging and the threatened rain on the horizon looking forward to another gloriously wet English weekend!!) Jealous .... not 'alf!!

Ah! Before I came to my senses, I used to be a very keen racing-snake. My humble nature prevents me from bragging about the many wins I had in my time. And I used to own a monomaran.

You do know of course, that there are only three types of boat: a catamaran, half-a-cat and a cat-and-a-half.
