I failed to extract diesel by Pela-help please!

Even if it has been repaired I don't see any problem removing the sender.

Are you guys looking at the same photo as me :confused::confused:
Are you answering from an Iphone with 1/2 inch photo and 20x30 resolution :confused:

Dont touch it unless you have to Mike.

My interpretation is the sender (with the black gasket underneath) is held in place with the 5 machine screws. These machine screws are screwed into tapped holes through the doubling plate and tank.

yes.
One of the 5 screw heads isnt visible.
1 is corrosion welded in place
2 are corroded badly
1 looks like it may come undone but at least 3 out of 5 are going to strip the threads (if there are any left )
corrosion around the outer edge is extensive , in particular there are 4 areas directly adjacent to the machine screws that are badly corded, one is out of sight but no reason to suspect it isnt also past its sell by.
BTW looks like a mix of slot and hex which doesnt bode well for finding a professional fitters job.

Its obvious to me that someone has had problems with this sender and taken it out with difficulty, the best solution for that person would be to bolt the weak sender to a new bit of aluminium and then weld it in place.

It will be fine until the sender fails , it could easily last another 5-10 years unless Mike is daft enough to turn any of the 5 screws in any direction.

qualified

happy to accept Im wrong if anyone posts that they have seen a brand new tank with a reinforced sender plate.

when people have a replacement tank made on the cheap it is common practice to chop the old fittings , pick up pipe/filler/breather/fuel sender etc out and weld the second hand fittings on the new tank.
It saves a lot of money.

Mikes plate isnt at all like that, it is just the size of the sender.

Mike will know by looking at it.
perhaps it is sealant that makes it look corroded (never seen black fuel resistant sealant before).
perhaps they are hex self cutting machine screws in good condition.
Its Mike risk, I quote his question

can I take this ( Picture below)capping off ( the one with the two wires) and 5 screws?
but seriously dont want to mess anything up or throw something out of flunter.

edit

Mike is far too polite to post but has sent me a PM.

I was wrong, the screws came straight out and the sender gave easy access.
A good result even if I was proven wrong
