My boat was loaded on to a lorry this morning. I left Preston shortly afterwards and got the train to London. I am now faced with an odd feeling that my boat is somewhere on the motorway network, on the back of a lorry, all alone, having been shaken to bits for a few hours on a sprung trailer.

I know one shouldn't anthropomorphise boats, but really, I'm worried about the old girl. I wish I'd fitted a GPS tracker before I left.

Don't worry, thems Nicholsons are pretty tough. I feel sorry for any Nissan Micras that try it on eh?

Quelle aventure, enjoy!

Did you not speak to the driver when they loaded the truck, Nathan?
Did you not ask him which route he would be using, if he had enough hours to make the trip in one hit?
Most likely he ran out of time and made an overnight stopover.

Nope. I knew he couldn't do it on a oner though. She's due to arrive this morning.

I know the feeling. I left my boat just after purchase in the hands of a delivery crew in Cowes for moving down to the South of France in January. I got very just a few patches of information, like they had left to cross the bay of Biscay, they had filled up with diesel in Gibraltar,.... Very nerve racking. As you can imagine as was checking all the grib files and all the weather reports I could find.

Very pleased to see my boat again when it arrived.
