Took SWIMBO out for her first ever sail today
Nice bit of wind about and a reasonable size swell, mostly an uneventful few hours until we headed back to harbour under full sail then the wind really picked up and we had the toe rails under water and I was enjoying myself mind you it was getting a bit hairy so I reduced all my sails to go into harbour under power.

SWIMBO turned round and said "that was fun wasn't it?" :D:D:D

Wonder if that means I won't get nagged for spending money on the boat now:rolleyes:

I don't think I emphasized how important this trip was to me as someone who is now semi retired and fulfilling a long desire to go sailing. It was important that my good lady would get involved (and on-board so to speak :) ) because when you are not well off but want an interest that can eat up your much diminished bank account the sharing of an interest keeps the cost and friction down to a minimum .On top of that it is really nice to have her with me to share the excitement and adventures we are hoping to have for the next few years.

Deflowering a Virgin

Yes, I am with you all the way on this. I would love to spend retirement sailing with SWMBO. It took my wife a while to get used to our yacht. We went to Lanzarote sailing last Easter, half of the time she had her backside in the Atlantic swell winching as she earned her Competent Crew. She said it was great and we are going back for more next year. I have always been suspicious of miracles now I see the light.
Fair winds,
Lancelot
