However, in seriousness, she draws 1.5, the gauge showed 1.6 and the sounder ( about level with front of keel) showed 0.1 under keel...

I once saw a Dutch yacht there with the keel outside and rudder inside, quite a feat.
He was there for the whole tide.

We were on a rising tide, so no drama, and a nice helpful man came alongside in his inflatable, and added his weight to ours to rock her over a bit.

Gladys's sounder is pretty much accurate certainly, and if anything is slightly pessimistic. It's not best part of 0.2 m out... What's worse I watched a Contessa 32 do it the day before...

If you look at the cill at LW you will notice that the lowest point is somewhat to the left of centre on exit. No idea which bit the gauge relates to but worth aiming for the lowest point of marginal?

We've been in (2.01m) without problem. Just have to time it to high tide exactly and make sure you're not neaped the next day...
Although I have to say we prefer to moor or anchor in the river most of the time...

We've been in with a 2m keel and not a problem on springs. Just check the excellent tide table on their website

Being a fool I thought two inches would be enough a few weeks back. We draw 1.70m (allegedly) and just nicked the cill at 1.75m on the gauge.
The gauge must be set to the lowest part of the cill as there's no other common sense way of surveying it.

I've always suspected that with a full load, crew and full fuel and water tanks, our draft is up to 10cm more than advertised. My blood pressure will withstand 2.5m - not much clearance I admit, but 2 inches is too squeaky for me!!
