Is it a problem getting it renewed now? and as its my first renewal how do I do it?

Thanks in advance

I would not think its a problem, but you could call RYA Training on 0845 345 0376 to check.

If you are a member of the RYA simply send a mugshot plus old ICC, fill out form and send it , The ICC is free and lasts five years. If you are not a member do the same but it will cost you about 30 beer tokens.

Re:Iv\'e Sent it off!!!

Well I have posted it to the RYA asking for a renewal for a further five years. I am a member so Hopefully they will not make a charge! and will not see this as a problem!

I will let you all know what happens next! I cannot be the only person out there that has forgotten to renew his I.C.C. Can I ? I mean why do we have to renew it anyway? once you have passed the test surely you have passed! why is a renewal needed? It should be like your driving licence, last all your life! well almost!

We are cruising down the west coast of France and have noticed Captains ICC renewal is out of date, by 3 months. does anyone if it's easy to renew while abroad. We originally planned to do the Canaries-Caribbean, but boat probs have delayed us - we are still at Aberwrac'h - and we're doubtful we'll have time to get there before the weather turns nasty. an alternative would be the French canals from Bordeaux to the Med, hence the sudden checking of the ICC. If applied for on-line will they send it to a marina, or local RYA centre?

they will certainly post to a marina on request - they have just sent me my annual membership renewal to Greece so I can get the 6% discount on moorings they offer!

Why not call the RYA and find out? Better than getting guesses from here.

Because it is a UN document - the leisure equivalent of a merchant seaman's "ticket" which requires renewal every 5 years. Nothing to do with the RYA who are only the national issuing body.

Graham - Barry hasn't been on this forum for 2 weeks (last visited 16/8) and is extremely unlikely to pick up on this thread.

Best bet would be to start a new thread titled 'searching for medskipper/barry' and hope that either he spots it or someone who has his number contacts him about it.

That was not the question
Yer see
MF and hlb would never need an ICC
To travel the World and even the coast of the UK
The 'ICC ' to those pair would have been as much assistance as the 'MCC checkin out lbw, never mind hlb:D

I get it now K...should have read the whole post properly 12 months ago.

As for the cricket reference...is just because England has the No.1 ranking now? :)

I have never been asked to produce mine. I don't think I'll bother renewing it, after the initial hoohaa when 1st introduced it now seems a possible waste of money.
