Hello All!
I am rebuilding a M225ti. Well maybe I am. Heres the story…
I bought a boat with what Im pretty sure has a Perkins Sabre M225ti. Maybe.
There are the engine plates. One of which is loose. Two others are still attached to the engine. All the numbers match. I have attached the photos.
Here is where my brain starts leaking out of my ears.
The emissions plate says:
Engine Family 1006-6TW
Year 2010
Engine Type 5528/2500
The engine sticker still attached says:
M225TI/148HP
YD50756
YD50775/150HPU913458U
The metal stamped engine plate says:
M225TI/148HP
YD50775U907458U
The build sheet for my boat says Perkins M150ti and matches my serial number. Nothing else I find mentions a M150ti.
The Perkins App wont even accept my serial number if I use the YD50775 part. It will only accept the whole number if I use YD50756. But then it tells me the engine is a 1006-60TA not a 6TW like the emissions sticker says. And if I click the parts book link, it builds me a parts list for the YD50756 M210TI. Not to mention there are no Sabre parts in that list book.
I do know that other boats of the same model do have the same engine and same stickers. So my boat isn't a weirdo.
1: I have been trying to figure out why Perkins doesn't accept the YD50775 part of my serial number?
2: Why are there two numbers on my engine sticker? What is YD50756 and YD50775?
3: Who can I contact for an actual parts list for my engine?
4: Is there such a thing as a Sabre Workshop Manual for this engine? I saw a post that mentions a TPD 1318e?
5: What do these ti, tw, 60t, etc. abbreviations mean?
6: All other M225TI’s are 225HP. Why does mine say 148 and 150HP?
I am not an idiot. I have rebuilt a handful of engines. Never has any company made me crazy like Perkins. I think this is how aneurisms happen.
I have been at this for WEEKS!!!!!!!
Please be kind.
