I am not a troll, I am however someone who has come across a bit flippant or immature.

Look, I've spent time in places like California where you can rock up to a large lake/river etc and there are kids, people, whoever, jumping in from the the side of cliffs, on inflatables, jet ski's etc and I was trying to find/recreate something like that. The Thames, well if I want to go on the sightseeing section I'll go back on one of those high speed Rib tours I've been on previously.

The dinghy on Highgate Ponds was meant to be a nice relaxing afternoon spent floating around with a friend, having lunch on the water and jumping in to cool off when necessary. This was halted straight away by park police who drove past whilst I was walking with the deflated dinghy and oars and said "I hope your not planning to use that in there". I couldn't find anything online that said you could use it on the ponds but I couldn't find anything that said you couldn't. Considering there are loads of large ponds which allow swimming and fishing I thought it would be okay, apparently it would be harmful to the wildlife and we would have been in big trouble.

The afternoon finished with a trip to St Katherines Docks where I got to see some real boats.

I know we live in England and I'm around London however how boring. Just trying to recreate some memories from time spent in the US.....wasn't even allowed to put my small dinghy in Highgate/Hampstead Ponds....swimmers allowed, fishing allowed, yet not a small inflatable. Boring country. And it appears you can't even hire a small speed boat and tear up the Thames. Looks like it's bowls and darts then.

If looking to hire a boat following do, (I have no link to them apart from hiring one for a Stag do! Was all very respectable until ashore in the evening but THATS anouther story!!,) the boats are on the non tidal section by Windsor and is a very senic and a lovely day out. Incdently even on the Non tidal section, with the wears and locks using a 2m beach toy would be worth thinking twice about! Looks ok for lakes and sheltered beaches.
