Last weekend, i looked at the weather forecast for this week in the UK and thought, nah. I’m off to my boat.

So flew over on Monday and have had a great few days in the sun. To think this time last year i wasn’t a boater and yet here i am totally single handed (my only companion is spotify :) ) enjoying such fantastic times. Just show’s, don't be put off by the nay sayers who tell you to start small and work up.

Nice! Where is that?

Do you struggle mooring med style, while solo? I can manage 'normal' berthing on my 37footer (usually have OH there, though), but med style must be a bit more complicated?

@Parabolica Thank you for the pictures, but they are too small! If you edit your posts, you should be able to simply drag each picture to make them larger. Alternatively, when you upload the pictures in your post, a small thumbnail appears below, where you can select whether the post should display them in full size or as a clickable thumbnail. Both of these options should work unless your picture source has already reduced the picture size, in which case you'll need to manually resize (drag) them.

Alternatively, resize the images first using an external program/application - I resize to 800x600 pixels.
Then you can use the "insert image" button above the text where you edit posts.
That process makes for a better post in that you can then add text around your images.
It is a shame that this forum software isn't very intuitive in that respect - it can't handle large images.

Yes there's plenty of good online tools for bulk resizing - for instance:
Birme
Bulk Resize Photos

I moved to Linux about 5 years ago but before that, I used an addon for Windows explorer that allowed you to "right click an image" and resize it "on the fly.
The addon was called Prish Resizer - worked well under Windoze 7.

Now that I'm using Linux, I use Nemo as my file manager.
Nemo has an extension that does the same.
All I do is right click an image (or a selection of images) and resize them with a single click.
Those resized images can then be simply uploaded to this forum whilst writing a post.

It's all I know so not really. I think in some case's bigger might be easier also but then when the wind catches it, sometimes maybe not ! With the turn made and the thrusters helping make the final alignment, it's actually really easy once you get between the other boats as they give you shelter from the wind.

The secret of course is to not worry if it goes wrong, stop straight away and just go back out without panic and do it again. I have had this but I don't care how many times I take as long as I get it berthed safely without touching my neighbouring boats.

Yesterday I was applauded for my solo exploits on a 66' boat by a boater of some years who told me he never has felt confident enough to do so (55' Sunseeker). That felt quite good but as I said to him, it was always the plan from the off, I didn't ever consider needing others around if I could find a few days to escape.

I can see our apartment in the background of your first picture - I think
Santa Ponca ?

I have so many times failed to upload pictures on this site that I have all but given up. I tried with these once again, and couldn't believe that it actually worked so I'm happy enough at that for now.

I will add, stern to berthing a 66' foot boat on my own is a d*mned site easier than uploading pictures on this site :)
