Hydrovane Self Steering

I've been trying to get hold of Hydrovane for some time now as I've seen lots of good reports about their
gear.

Directory enquiries don't seem to know their number and they don't appear to have a web site. I eventually
found their number on the YM site, but they don't answer the phone.

Does anyone know if they're still in business?

I've just heard from Hydrovane. The company is in the process of being bought by a Canadian yachstman. It
will continue trading but probably under the name 'Hydrovane Self Steering'. It's likely that they'll stop
supplying the lighter weight shaft designed for smaller boats because people kept fitting them to big heavy
boats with predicatable results.

The new owner is going to sort out a web site etc so I guess they'll go from strength to strength.

I spoke to the previous owner who wishes to sell the business but was very helpful concerning the product. I have a very little used Hydrovane that came off a thirty two foot steel boat if you are interested.
