hydraulic tee-ins

Morning all.
I'm mid installing a new hydraulic autopilot. the new drive unit uses 3/8th nylon pipe, the old hydraulic steering uses 5/16th nylon pipe. I need to find two tee-ins that both end connectors are 5/16th and the middle connector is 3/8th. can anyone point me in the direction of where I could source these, or is there another solution that I am missing?

I'm not very familiar with hydraulics, particularly nylon pipe. But in other systems the solution would be a tee in the larger size with reducers in the legs that need to fit smaller pipe or hose. Are there suitable fittings for this nylon system?

Not really without knowing more about this nylon tube system. The limited amount of hydraulics I've come across used either (or often a combination of) metal pipe and/or reinforced rubber hose with swaged-on end fittings.

How is the nylon tube connected to the existing fittings? Does it have metal end pieces permanently attached to the tube, does it go over barbed fittings and is held in place by some kind of clamp, does it go into a compression fitting?

For what it's worth, ASAP Supplies sell a wide range of marine plumbing fittings for fuel, water, and other fluids. Hyphose and Pirtec lean more towards hydraulics.

I had a similar problem, I took the problem to Pirtex it was sorted in no time at a low cost.After all it is there job.

Try your local hydraulic hose supplier
They may even make you up hoses which are better than nylon anyway

Hi Pete,
The current nylon tube 5/16" does have metal end pieces permanently attached to the rudder drive and what look like compression nuts into the helm pump . The new nylon tube 3/8" I purchased to tee into the old, and run into the autopilot drive pump. I also have 2 x tee parker in 3/8" and 3/8" compression nuts. I just cant figure a way to tee-in the old 5/16" tube.

I have sent a few emails to various hydraulic hose suppliers, hopefully they will have a solution, as I have cut the original pipe :-0
