Hi there

As a new hustler 30 owner I'm keen to fulfill my new years resolution of learning how to write in HTML by writing a web site about the boat and, if there is any intrest then putting together a gallery for other boats in the class. Not an owners association as such, just a gathering of information about the design.

Can anyone who owns a huster 30, or knows someone who does, or even knows where one is berthed PM me so that I can try and collect ssome owners pictures / info etc

Thanks

Jamie

I have some interior and exterior shots of a Hustler I was going to buy a few years ago.

Would that help? If so PM me your email address and I'll zip 'em up and send them over.

I love the Hustlers, missus doesn't though /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif... nuff said!

There are 2 usually moored at Wicormarine in Portsmouth Hr - don't know the names, but an email to Wicormarine (google address?) might result in your request being forwarded. Good Luck.

I remember your boat at Fambridge in Essex about 20 years ago.
At least I assume it was, a Hustler called The Hustler?
The owner swapped the shoal fin keel for a deep fin and left the old one laying next to my boat. I asked him to move it but he wasn't keen.
He is a very keen yachtie and made some impressive trips in her. Have you been in contact with him? [Mr Daniels]
I met him recently, still an active sailor.

I have never met the owner, only the broker. I gather the current owner who has had the boat for 5 years or so is away doing the arc. If you have contact details for any previous owners I love to have them

Good choice. Have had our Hustler 30 "CORINTH MISTRAL" (ex MISTRAL OF SCARBOROUGH) for 2 years - a fine seaboat. So good in fact that our friends bought one too "AMRA". Both are moored at Tollesbury and we occasionally race in Mersea Week. There are at least another 7 locally, here on the River Blackwater - "MISCHIEF" moored at Rowhedge, "MACKIE II" from the Colne Yacht Club (used to be in Tollesbury also) and "RICCOCHET" and "TIFFANY" at West Mersea. There are another two (names unknown) in West Mersea and another one at Stone. Hardly surprising I guess as Holman & Pye is still based at West Mersea. They have no website but are very helpful - their phone number is 01206 382 478. They still have all of the original design drawings and Gowen Ocean Sailmakers have the original sail plans.

Others that I am aware of locally are "RUBADUBDUB" (for sale via Blue Baker in Ipswich), "KESTREL OF KERNOW" (for sale via Eastern Yachts), "ASTRID" which was reviewed in one of the yachting mags, "TARKA" and another (name unknown) for sale via Amble Boat Co. in Newcastle.

CORINTH MISTRAL is 1969 built shoal draft (4'7") version, I believe one of the "original 4" (or 6?) built for members of the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club in 1969. I have the original sales brochure. If you would like a copy happy to send one to you.

Email: rob@robcrees.co.uk

Hope that helps. Happy sailing.
