Are any intrepid 'forumeers' heading towards the Caribbean for a charter - or beach - holiday soon?

If so, they may like to consider the warnings being posted in the NOAA National Hurricane Centre press release today - 2 August 05.

For those who consider such stuff too far away to be relevant, it is worth recalling that one of these TRS events, downsizing and winging its way across the N Atlantic to Cornwall and Devon a couple of years ago, that did for Boscastle. And it could certainly happen again.

Anyone want to rent a holiday cottage on Dartmoor?

IMHO The ones to watch are those -like right now ?- that organise clearly and strongly almost as soon as they come off the African coast-........................... The bigger they are, the slower and more reluctant to veer to the North early on, and the broader the swathe of damage . Early September used to breed the Monster catagory 4s and5s ,but last year saw the first recorded South Atlantic system ,so ,,watch this space !

On a more local note what will be the likely weather Solent - CI - France for the last 2 weeks of August. Will we catch the tail end of this? Sorry but I have never considered local forcasts with whats in Burmuda right now so don't know the time factor involved or the likely consequence.

Those of us staying this side of the pond might want to keep track of 'HARVEY'...

Pse. se my post of 5 Aug, and 'scuse the capital letters.

"....Good forumites planning a holiday cruise on the west coasts of Ireland and Scotland later this month might care to keep a careful 'weather eye' on what is now heading their way, and expected to pick up intensity....."
