am sitting in La Coruna waiting for the wind to turn northerly and watching the remnants of Bertha swinging by, 50 kts forecast for the English Channel on Sat/Sunday!

FWIW XC Weather have just pulled back their Sunday forecast for the Channel from c.55mph tops to c.35mph tops.

Wind forecast reduced to 23knots for Sunday. Those news programmes need news, nothing like the word "hurricane" to fill some minutes.

What interests me is that with all the supercomputers, satellite imagery and observations and modelling a large system like Bertha cannot be accurately predicted, yesterday the predicted paths varied by almost 400 miles.

Having a ball, Camarina tomoz, weather permitting, Just seen the Queen Victoria disgorge its Americans this morning, a quick trip around the square and it just left for Shampton. Looks like the Bertha doesnt bother it!

Going to sit it out in Darthaven. Met office predicting 60 knots gusts but mainly 7-9. Agree though re the press. One sniff of a named depression heading this way and the wail et al are forecasting the apocalypse.
