These really are very nice moorings now they've been tarted up.

Just enjoyed oven baked sea bass with new pots and veg and about to demolish raspberries and cream.

Managed to get in at Higginson Park earlier but there is a funfair there for the weekend so decided to move back here.

I wonder if you'd like to comment about the depth there (obviously of no interest to me) but may be of interest to those like Apollo (haha).

I know it used to be a tad shallow further up - when we circumnavigate Hurley Island in our trusty dinghy we hit bottom. As it's the stream for the overflow weir it probably doesn't get much of a scour.

I've seen deep draughted boats at the downstream end - so no problem there.

Just for others' knowledge banks, you understand.

We're not out until next week so will miss sounding our strangulated horn at you..

Go on, send a nice message to AQ (you know it makes sense!)

The visitors moorings are the downstream end of the run - rented moorings further up.

We are last but one at the downstream end and enough water for me and not many cruisers draw 4' plus.

Can't really comment on further in as all occupied but, as the new moorings are some 3 - 4 feet from bankside suspect they are all a little better than they were previously.

Yes, no problem for quite a way up the stream - with my 4' draught, although Byron thinks it's more than that!

Which reminds me. . . Yesterday I had a Tug slightly closer in than where you were stopped and he reckons to draw 4'3"

We then tied him to the Willow Tree and he's blasted out the silt with his prop and there's now 6' all along there.

Perhaps that's the solution -

Which reminds me. . . Yesterday I had a Tug slightly closer in than where you were stopped and he reckons to draw 4'3"

We then tied him to the Willow Tree and he's blasted out the silt with his prop and there's now 6' all along there.

to the dredging problems.
Direct Action by the users. Bypass EA and hire / "bribe" an old tug to do a bit of blast dredging. :) :) :)
