I am looking to purchase an Eastwood 24 cabin cruiser currently located on the Thames at Hurley, however I am looking for somewhere to have the boat lifted onto a truck to ship it back to the Ouse.

The engine is currently not in running condition, but I believe I can get it in a serviceable condition to motor up the river, but I would not want to go to far.

I can get it lifted a Espar@harleyford, but it's £280 on to a truck. The truck already has a crane capable of the lift. I just need somewhere on the river with truck access?

Anyone got any suggestions?

The short answer is that the nearest place I can think of is at Caversham, where EA have a facility next to Ting Dene marina.

Methinks it's a bit more complicated than that - you need somewhere where the lorry is immediately alongside the river bank. An Hiab on a lorry can't swing an appreciable load any distance from the centre of the crane mounting.
Any boat yard is going to want a fee for using their facility and probably wouldn't let you use your carrier's crane either.
I could be wrong....

True Blue pretty ,much has it - supply and demand. The Riparian owner will have the upper hand to charge an access fee.

I suspect that the few places that might be accessible will be too soft for your truck.

However there is a short piece of camp-shod frontage on the farm field just downstream from Freebody's. A rigid might get down there, but would not fancy your chances with anything articulated.

Again, without knowing the configuration of your chosen truck, it maybe that you can get close enough at St peter's Street Slipway, Marlow.

Can't think of anywhere on the river other than a yard where it would be feasible and certainly not very close. Would be really surprised if a truck crane would have the reach for a boat the size of an Eastwood 24, might do the weight but its not a simple lift out of the river. Would it have a proper spreaders and slings so it doesn't damage the boat. I would go to Espar and have it lifted properly.

Most of the HIAB boat hauliers will carry appropriate spreaders.

I was recently charged £2.00 a foot for a lift, thats £72 quid for 36 ft boat....... You lot must be minted up there ?

Mind you...... Murv was quoted £550 quid for a basic lift and hold at Allington Marina last year !
We gracefully declined,got the boat home and splashed out £45 on hiring the club drying grid .
Murv has a chunk of shopping trolley on his mantlepiece I believe.

I'm assuming you mean the Cambridgeshire Ouse. If this is the case try phoning Jones Boatyard at St Ives. I've seen man there with Toyota Amazon and trailer, think it may be Toby Tug Boats? Possible option to slip onto trailer, transport and slip in at other end. Have seen him pull freeman 23's. Good slip for you at Windsor Leisure Centre, and it was free!

Steve at SRB moorings in Henley had two of his 3 Robert Ives 29 patrol boats delivered from Lincs to Marlow slipway by trailer. Have asked him for the bloke's name. Quite heavy boats but they are narrow (same shell as the smaller ea patrol boats).
If you did need a hoist I can recommend Bushnells at Wargrave. I've had two boats delivered there from low loaders. Good yard with a travel hoist. Bit over the top for a small cabin cruiser though.

Thanks for all the replys, I visited the boat yesterday and as the engine hasn't been run for 18months I have decided to get it towed to Espar at Harleyford and lifted. I don't want to get court out with a engine problem mid river, so for me this is the safest option.
