Thats it, I've had with that rotting pile of unreliable junk. Its been threatened with a copy of boats and planes and a chainsaw and if it does not start to behave in the very near future it will be chopped up into little bits.

Oh, the frustration of boat ownership. I know how you feel. Right, I'm off to pick up the "new" engine now. Round trip of 400 miles half of which will be towing 1/2 a ton of diesel engine plus outdrive. Better bloody well work!

Oops! Something amiss young man?? "Nobody said it was easy, but nobody said it would be so hard" in the words of a popular cold play song! Fancy threatening it with a chain saw, tut tut, you naughty boy, now it will never behave itself!

well apart from the mysterious water leak only when boat is in use that I cant trace, the diesel leak on one injector pump, the main problem is that saturday, doing bout 20 knots, only a couple of miles out of Hamble hit something in the water, could not see it, but now got bad vibration on one shaft, think I must have bent a prop or shaft

bugger, soiunds like Ian Ainge had a worse day than me tho

Now, you can't blame the boat for hitting something it is old and may need glasses, have you considered that? Sounds ominous though. Water leak, from the hull or inside. Diesel leaks, well we all have them occasionally. By they way, you'll need lots and lots of pennies if you buy an E type, I know, been there done that, couldn't afford the "T" shirt! A healey is a cheaper bet.

Re: Healey\'s are much better

So easy to work on re welding . easy engines to rebuild hey I might even have carburetters ? for em.

So have you got an iffy seam, all the pounding the hull take's at high speed causes a lot of stress along the hull I'd be surprised if it didn't leak .
cheers
Mick

Re: Healey\'s are much better

remember its a one peice moulded hull of 7 diagonal layers, I reckon its coming form the strainers or coolers or something else.
