i have just bought one of these boats and i plan to teach myself to sail, i have had a motor boats for years but fancy the change.
i will only be going out in light winds does anyone have any tips

From my experience it was good to find a more experienced sailer to be "crew" on the first couple of sails. I had sailed occassionally in dinghies and read all the books, but it was reassuring to have someone with a little more experience and confidence there for the first trip just to be sure everything is as it should be.

If you say, either in your profile or in this thread, where the boat is based, somebody on this forum would probably volunteer to assist you on your first few sails. They may also be able to advise whether or not you should take a formal course.
