Anyone know the air draft of a Hunter Pilot 27?
I tried posting this on the Hunter Association site but got no response. The dimensions quoted on their website said 11.354m but that is getting on for 38ft and as they give a LOA figure of 7.625m for a boat where the builders certificate gives 8.11m I'm not sure I believe it.

Sounds about right for air draft (rather than mast length). Attach a line to the main halyard and pull it to the top. Measure the length to the mast foot. Add the height from the waterline to the mast foot (plus a bit for masthead bits - ariels lights etc) and you have the air draft.

Did you ever find the answer?

I was just about to respond to say 'I can't see your post on the HA website' then realised its a 2012 post, LOL.

I have scoured the HA site but there isn't the info there. Bendigedig happy to ask on the site if you want me too?

That was a long time ago.
I measured the mast when it was down and it was 10.02m long plus VHF aerial of 0.94m. When you add the height above water of the mast step (a very difficult thing to do accurately!) I work off 12.25m. As I'm based at Port Edgar as long as I get under the Forth Bridge I'm OK!

You wantada Hunter Pilot atada mast height? You gotada Hunter Pilot atada mast height.... or maybe a leedl lower....

Glad to see nothing has changed since my post in 2012! Interesting to see in the Hunter Association forum they agree with my calculation once you add the VHF aerial of 12.25m.
I'm still nervous when I go under the Skye bridge, though!
Another recommendation for the Hunter Association here.
