Does anyone have any experience of the Hunter Landau 29 Continental?

Is it a good coastal cruiser? What is the build quality like? How economical is the Yanmar 4LHAM 240 hp diesel engine at cruising speed? Will it comfortably accomodate four persons (2 adults / 2 children)?

Many thanks!

Allan

MBM did a test a few years back, you can order a reprint on this site. My memory is sketchy but my impression was that it was well built, but not very economical and a bit short on accomodation, no mid cabin due to inboard engine.

Hi
I've had a Landau 29 for 18mths, overall it is a good quality boat that I use on coastal and estuary waters. When moored, you can get water "slapping" on the hull sometimes, which can be annoying. It will accommodate 4 comfortably. Economy is OK providing the revs are mid range (Check the fuel consumption curve for that engine on the Yanmar site, it is pretty accurate.
