Hunter Europa and Squib mast

Just a quick question, is a Hunter Europa mast the same size as a Squib mast?

They have different sail areas - Squib 15.8m2 vs. Europa 14.1m2 - according to some online sources.

I would imagine, but don't know, that regardless of any difference in sail area that the cabin roof mounting of the Europa may well mean the mast would be shorter.

I thought the Europa was masthead rig, with a biggish genoa (for the size of boat) whereas the Squib is fractional rigged.

So presumably no, a very different mast.

Thanks LittleSister and Dunedin, just to clarify, when I said size I really meant length. I can’t find anywhere online that answers this question.

Minimum length of a Squib mast is 7695mm (from Squib class rules http://www.squibs.co.uk/PDFs/SQUIB_Rules_2016.pdf ).

As dunedin highlighted, Europa is masthead rigged, and the Squib fractional, so the fittings at least would require changing.

Someone on this old thread says the Europa mast is 'about 21 foot', and another poster says the Squib mast is the same as that of the Europa.:

The Europa mast is deck stepped and the Squib is - as far as I know - keel stepped, so that's about 3' difference for a start.
