Hunter Duette Fore Deck Hatch Seal, Help Needed

I have recently purchased a Hunter Duette and the fore hatch has a leak, it looks as this is probably the original hatch that was fitted in production but the seal has been replaced with a piece of foam which looks like draft excluder that you would pick up at a DIY store so I cannot see what the seal should look like. The hatch has no manufacturer make or markings that I can see so I am having trouble finding the correct seal.

I was under the initial impression that this was a Houdini hatch & sent them an email but they say it is not one of theirs.

Can anyone please help with finding the correct seal for this hatch?

It might be worth trawling the Seals Direct website (www.sealsdirect.co.uk) to see if they have anything suitable. I'me only a customer, but have found them very helpful in the past. You could perhaps email your first picture, showing the section, and ask if they have a match.

Seals Direct list two seals for Houdini hatches: clip in (£24.76 for two metres) and self-adhesive (£6.32 per metre).

The closed view looks identical to the Houdini hatch Hunters used on Sonatas etc. However, the open view shows a totally different type of seal. The original Houdini one had a trough running round the upper part and the rubber seal had a T piece which fed into the trough. Perhaps this is the later Houdini varient that has a cheaper stick on seal. In both cases the attachment should be along the inside edge, not on the top or bottom of the seal.

In the open photo there's a big gap in the seal at the corner, I take it that's halfway through investigation, not like that all the time or it wouldn't have a chance of being watertight ?

Seateach chandlery at Emsworth have a lot of hatches, various makes at relatively good prices, but be very careful if going that route re measurements, both the aperture and bolt spacings; I know someone who bought a ' direct Houdini replacement ' and found the size of the hole in the boat was different, as were the bolt spacings; apart from that it was a direct replacement !
