Hull shape how aware are you ?

Re: As promised in another thread....

Wonder what other design tools they have used to "refine" exhaust noise -curious ?
Huge dustbin silencers, essentially - though at SL they are very proud of their exhaust systems, so maybe they have some other aces up their sleeve, not sure.

hmm ability to cruise @40 knots and more compred to a mid 20s slugger of the SL72 --and get this ---- more or less the SAME fuel burn !

Now that's a tough one
Not so tough imho, for two reasons:
1) First of all, cruising at 40 rather than 20 kts mostly means halving the pleasure time and also the comfort - a loss/loss situation, in my books.
2) If speed on the water is your thing, 40kts is nowhere near enough to get me awake. Make it double that, and on a 25 rather than 75 footer - then we are talking!
But that's me, of course.

You are looking down the wrong end of the telescope ----- go twice as far for the SAME "pleasure time " --arguably having a bit more pleasure too
Tough choice ,it's a pitty you can,t try one for a season each --then decide which ones the keeper --you liked /used the best

You sound like a wham, bang, thank you ma'am type portofino. Maybe Mapism prefers to take his time savouring his pleasures;)

I,am slowing down ,it's a natural ageing process --find we go along more and more @ D speed ,enjoying the rhythm of the sea as we go .
MapishM is going the other way -speeding up -from D to now P ( with a choice of D ) ,but yes Italian men are reputed to "savour" there pleasure more than us Brits .:):):)

Just to clarify I,am talking about boats not women :):):)
The boat route probably works out cheaper too !

Re: As promised in another thread....

Yeah, there's always a cheaper alternative.
I always say that economically, it makes more sense to get addicted to heavy drugs rather than boating...
...though the latter is hopefully better for health, in the long run! :)

For sake of editorial balance, here's a peculiar hull I came across in the last days.
Makes Itamas almost rail-lacking, in comparison.... :D :p
Btw, it ain't as easy to identify as the previous SL 72. Anyone up for a virtual Montecristo Cigar?
She's a 16m flybridge boat, just to throw in a small hint....
