Can anyone help with this small problem we have with noise from the sea, slapping against the hull, espcially when the wind comes up and while at anchor, Fairline Targa 33. What is the best form of sound insulation to put against the inside of the hull. any suggestions

Ear plugs!

I am afraid you are going to get some stick over this one. This is a perennial, and the advice will be wide and varied.

Among mine would be, ear plugs, line the hull with lead or give upboating- whichever is the cheaper option.

good luck

Re: glooping

Whilst not as cheap as ear plugs in the long run, the only thing that works for me is alcohol liberally supplied in the evening = some sleep

You could take the baot out of the water. Thats one sure way. Or you could use slappa stopper, its called something like that. Or tie some fenders so that the water doesn't slap directly against the hull Seen quiet a few raggie boats do this under the stern.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!
