Hmmmmm indeed, asked if item was in-stock *email* ( always do that before on-line orders placed anyhow ) zero response, fired-up the on-line chat and asked the person who appeared and they vanished ha ha, had a poke around here and web and found lots of people having issues. Have emailed force-4 to see if they can supply item.

Shame as website looked good and prices keen.

It's already been warned, many a time - and every time, a sticky has been called for but not answered.

Marine Mega(Vapour)store have a range of clone companies, operating under names sounding a lot like other companies,so watch out for:

Force Chandlery (Not to be confused with Force 4, an excellent chandlery)
Waveline Chandlery (Not to be confused with Waveline products, distributed by Marathon)
Nautical Gifts (Not to be confused with Nauticalia)

Anyone ever had any issues with Cactus Navigation? I've used them 3 times now with a 100% failure to deliver on time and also I had to get the credit card company involved to get my refund after returning an item to them. I wondered if it was just me or if anyone else had experienced their "It will definitely be delivered within 7-10 working days" speech. I actually waited 6 weeks for a plotter they said was in stock and would be delivered on time, 3 weeks for an instrument pack and 2 weeks for an Autopilot.
3 Strikes, They've lost my business for ever now.

I should also mention here that Marine SUPERstore are excellent, don't mix the two up.

Yep. I ordered a TV aerial and some other stuff. 4 weeks later it still hadn't come so I phoned them. "Oh it is out of stock with our supplier - we were waiting for it to come back in stock - we have an alternative though". Thanks for letting me know "OK, I'll have the alternative".

2 weeks later I call them "where is it" says I "Oh we didn't think you wanted the alternate" "Where's the rest of the order?" "Waiting for the aerial to come back in stock"

At that point I lost it.....

That's pretty much my story except there was no alternative and they lied to me when I placed the order because I specifically asked if it was in stock owing to their previous lack of punctuality.
 
I can confidently recommend to you the Discount Chandlery 'YouBoat' at Gosport. Their people have bent over backwards on several occasions to ensure swift supply of a needed item, and their knowledge is encyclopedic. Their prices are equally encouraging....

I waited weeks for a Simrad tiller pilot earlier this summer, despite being promised 7 days. Problem with supply was the excuse, should be there in x days. Every time x days came twas the same. Never any updates until I phoned. I did eventually get it after about 5 weeks. All this time it was still being advertised on their website as 7 days. Not impressed!
 
cactus let me down too - claimed in stock and then when chased out of stock and waiting for supplier... it sounds like a common theme

I too heartily recommend You Boat - in fact I've just ordered £700 worth of parts this week despite being overseas because they give the best prices and great service and even with UPS shipping across the world I'll still save a fortune and get what I need more quickly. What's more they're even accepting a part I ordered elsewhere (specialist Yanmar engine part) delivered to them and piggy backing it in the shipment to me to save me doing two overseas shipments. Honestly the best company I have ever dealt with for boat stuff.

strange chandlery that doesnt stock varnish, or the only filler is gelcote white.


does any body know where to get international varnish and say epifarnis 2 pack filler?
