We've been here for a couple of weeks. On the whole it's not a busy as usual, but still busy. Masks worn inside everywhere, make sure you bring some. We only eat outside and all waiters wear masks. It's all good!
I think the hostility comes because I always ask for well done. It drives French chefs crazy
I'm working in Paris and mask wearing is pretty much 100 percent in any indoor space and has been. I fall into the exempt category but would argue about the unenforceable nature of the quarantine law. If numbers in France continue to go up , and they are in the greater Paris area, Quiberon , the Mayenne and a few other areas then I imagine there is a good chance of quarantine being imposed. We are going out again this Sunday for 2 weeks and I dont care whether the UK imposes a quarantine on visitors from France or not because the quarantine is fundamentally unenforceable

Certainly I would dib anyone, including on here, to the border force and public health England whom I thought were breaking the quarantine as they are threatening others with their action. Risking a criminal record is probably a bigger impact for most than the 1,000£ fine.
They only need to go after a small sample and rely on tip offs to make it fairly well adhered to.
Rich doesn’t mean exemptCovid certainly has brought out the peak capped little Hitler tendency in some Brits hasnt itFor the record, I also fall into an exempt category so dont bother dibbing me
That's one way of looking at it. The other is that you were implying for yourself and others to just ignore an instruction that's introduced in order to save lives. Which would be a bit morally repugnant to many.Covid certainly has brought out the peak capped little Hitler tendency in some Brits hasnt itFor the record, I also fall into an exempt category so dont bother dibbing me
Do you need a lift up on that moral bandwagon? That's one way of looking at it. The other is that you were implying for yourself and others to just ignore an instruction that's introduced in order to save lives. Which would be a bit morally repugnant to many.

Yeah, I think we’ve gone from informative to light heartedness to agressive in only two pages. Time to tone it down everyone
To be fair that's a very good point. Although Germany has given advice to it's people not to visit parts of Spain.Agreed. Last thing I'll say to moondancer2 on here on the subject of quarantine is to suggest that he asks himself why the UK is the only country doing it?
Germany’s problem is like I said above the opposite of the Italians .They are moving .To be fair that's a very good point. Although Germany has given advice to it's people not to visit parts of Spain.
I don't think Sage wanted people to be going on holiday abroad at all this year and I think that it is relatively easy to implement. The government don't have much other wriggle room if case numbers rise significantly and they want to keep the economy from completely tanking.
We are drifting ( sorry folks ) into the whole EU crap cluby ness .....that will be it’s downfall .Agreed. Last thing I'll say to moondancer2 on here on the subject of quarantine is to suggest that he asks himself why the UK is the only country doing it?
You don,t need to fly except for the reasons ^^^ .
This means boating ...and Mike F , you could drive if you could be arsed .

That really is a crime. A permanent ban is the fitting punishment.I think the hostility comes because I always ask for well done. It drives French chefs crazy
From the restaurant, the forum or France in general? I think some waiters don’t like to confront the chef with such an order, they take it as an insult. That really is a crime. A permanent ban is the fitting punishment.

(nothing to do with my order) but in a scene reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, I once saw a waiter running out of a restaurant for his life followed by a furious French chef
