How's Cowes?

Thinking about a trip - just wondering how Cowes is looking after lockdown?

Busy? Restaurants open?

Looking for some inspiration to do something but worried I'll voyage somewhere and be disappointed that there's nothing to do

I’m here now, in E Cowes Marina. Gorgeous day. Not busy But things are open. Pub was working normally last night.

In W Cowes Now for the day, the chain ferry broken again so running a foot passenger shuttle. It’s very quiet for July. But pretty much everything is open.

I was there a couple of weeks ago in the Yacht Haven.

They were serving food and drinks from an outside chalet. Draught beer was on its way too!

Slightly off topic, but I was unaware that Cowes yacht haven is a charity with profits from their marina activities supporting a whole host of good causes on the islsnd.

I for one will use them in preference to any other marina in Cowes for that reason....

Most places getting back to normal (social distancing measures etc) in Cowes. A really good place to eat is Gastronomy. They‘re resuming normal hours from this Friday. They do a fantastic Sunday roast. Best to book.

I've always found Gastronomy to be disappointing.

North House, Mojacs and Number 3 all much nicer.

The poshest we do is a 2 for 1 from Marks and Spencer. Never disappoints. If you're lucky you can dine al fresco with a great view of the bus stop ?
