A few posts have been asking about Howards Way.....noticed it is on at 3.30am Sunday mornings on a Sky Channel. Drink plenty of coffee if you don't have a recorder or Sky + and want to watch it! A bit corny now, but some nice boats/weather/talent!

I never said I watched it.

I liked it when it started, but like the Bill they turned it into a soap opera so I stopped watching.

aye, I meant on UK Drama.

I was 14 I think when it started on BBC. As a boaty kid I was hungry for anything boats, it was great in the beginning, then it just started to become a fashion industry soap with some of the most unbelievable characters ever. The bald baddy, lol, who was he meant to scare!?

I would admit it if I did watch , but I have a serious soap aversion /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I liked the bill when they made single crime dramas each week, but then we had to know who was sleeping with who?

The last time I saw it, every rozzer was bent, the station was about to be bombed for the 11th time, etc etc.

Why does this keep happening to light drama?

Have to agree with you on this one, complete story each week works for me.

No soaps allowed on my tele! (S'ok, she's not watching) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Around that time I was dealing with the main builders, and a lot of the boat side was reasonable, infact some things that went on were more unreal than Howards Way.
It was the days of rapid grouth in the marine trade, new boat builders sprung up each week, then went bust the next. You drove down a road and there was a mud flat, next month a marina basin, the next a for sale notice.
Also I knew at least one person that matched the bold headed guy.
