How to screw up e-borders

What troubles me is, I don't believe this will prevent any illegals coming in to the country.

Anyone know what the situation is currently? Anyone got any stats for the number of pleasure cruisers caught red-handed with a couple of dozen Iranians stashed down below?

Seems to be yet another case of the government throwing legislation at a problem that doesn't exist.

Dunno, we've been trying to get to IOM for the last 12 months, aint made it yet. And it's not because we mind a few waves.

So I say I've got Fred and Elsie aboard. And not 20 imigrants. How does this help. And which boat am I on the radar screen.

All for making a mockery of the scheme, but flooding the database with fake plans will simply result in a charge for every plan logged. Will probably happen anyway, but charge could be more off-putting.

Why not simply make sure every trip you make doesn't go according to plan. i.e. for legitimate reasons, weather, engine problems, crew sickness, you never end up where you intended.

The fact that the eborders agree that allowances have to be made for legitimate reasons, makes a mockery of the whole scheme anyway.

The boat full of immigrants/terrorists is not the one that hasn't filed a plan, it is the one that has filed a plan and carries it out, how is that going to show up?

The next step will be to only allow specific ports of entry and departure, to make it easier to check up on filed plans.

O.K. - still looking for any evidence here...

Let's try wording it differently.

Can anyone on here provide a link to a story, or even HEARD A RUMOUR of any Johnny Foreigners being stashed/hidden aboard any pleasure cruiser - ever? Surely it must have happened once? Anyone...?

"Well said I reality how many times do most of us cross the channel,"

Well I was having a bit of a wonder about this......Now don't shoot me, but I was wondering just how many (in the greater scheme of things), this E-Borders malarkey will affect??

Not the point, really, though is it? Residents of Schengen Group countries have the right to unrestricted and unmonitored travel within Europe, so why should we get even more paperwork and intrusion?
