Hello,

I need to repair our patio door, which probably has one or more defective rollers.

How do I remove the sliding door from the frame ? It's not a simple lift-and-remove solution, so how much dismantling is necessary ? Would I need to remove the entire frame from the boat, or is there a simpler way to go ?

Thanks.
F.

Door is made by Trend Marine. Look at pics of spares on their website. Usually the rollers jack up and down by putting screwidriver or allen key into holes in vertical edges of sliding door panel. If you jack the rollers down you create enough clearance so you can lift the sliding panel out, then fit the new rollers

You definitely should remove just the sliding panel and fit 4 new rollers to that. Don't remove the whole frame, eek

At the bottom of the doors are access holes, with a screwdriver turn the bottom roller adjusters so the door lowers, I'm sure you can then lift out the door complete to access the rollers and the adjusting mechanism .

Thanks for quick responses. The door is moveable, but carefully handled, until I start repairing when the boat is lifted on shore for the winter.

Good to know that it is possible without removing the entire frame. That would definitely be an *eeky* job :-)

I sent a mail to Trend Marine, and hopefully they'll respond with a how-to and list of sparepart numbers specific for our door.

Thanks again.
