In a spectacular display of outright stupidity my wife has smashed one of Seralia's side windows.
The boat is 22 years old - any idea how to get a replacement?

Fortunately it's an opening window in a frame so I reckon any glazer could do it if I can find the glass

Ooops. Not good but easy to fix. As is just the glass then get a sheet of stiff card or harboard and cut to fit and usr as a template to give to a glass suppliers who will cut and get it toughened for you. To fit carefully remove the brackets that hold the frametogether. WD will help.

Any manufacturers names on the glass or frame? Most American boats use a company called Taylor made for example.

I Googled them, got in touch & managed to get spares on one of my previous boats. You might have similar success

Manufacturer is TECNOINOX Italy

I have already contacted them and they say they are unable to help as they no longer hold templates and do not make windows of that size anymore.

I have also contact my insurers. Anyone know if tint colour can easily be matched?

Quick fix is to make cardboard template or take frame to glazier and then to fit plexiglass temporary. Then he'll use same measurements to get glass cut and get it toughened (may take some time)... In respect to tinting, there may be people dong that locally for cars, and they should manage to do that for your toughened glass once manufactured...

It's as much your fault for ducking :D
LOL, if whatever was flying was heavy enough to go through the window, I wouldn't have been happy to stop it with my head either...! :D

Jez, at Tecnoinox they build boat windows, windscreens etc., but pretty sure they don't actually produce any glasses (it's an entirely different industrial process).
I would try to look if somewhere (in a corner, usually) on the other side glass there is a stamp of the actual glass producer - like PPG, SGS, or whatever.
Not that you could get the glass from them directly (unless you wish to order a full container!), but it might be a useful indication to give to a glass fitter for sourcing the same type/colour, and eventually cut it to measure.

An alternative could be acrylic with a tinted film - the films come in various grades of tint so may be able to match existing windows

It might be worth having a chat with your local glaziers. I have replaced several of mine and had them made up with laminated glass. Had three made for the cost of one from a marine supplier.

Thanks John/Mike and others for suggestions.

insurance company (Y) have so far been very responsive so just waiting for an estimate or two.
The marina have organised a local company to come and have a look and quote on AUgust 1st. Probably need more than 1 quite but it's a start. Big thing is if the tiny colour can be matched.

No worries - better to get it sorted by locals if you can, but let me know if you need any further assistance. We may launch the tender later to run out to the musclearium if so, I'll pop over to see you all. I know you're not out but I have heard there's easy access to a boat and an all night party arranged for tonight?.
