I have had a water leak through one on my windows which has resulted in white staining of the teak veneer underneath.

Anyone know how best to deal with the stains?

Cheers,

Andy

Not quite the same problem but I have a hot pan heat mark on teak. My joiner mate was asked for advice. He said do nothing. Time, weather and sunlight will eventually make it blend to indistinguishable.

Try:

Very light working of the affected surface with wirewool and spirits to prep the surface. That means very light!

Then apply light smear of teak stain to match surrounding colour.

Finish with good wax polish of whole surface.

You may well see the outline for a while, but at least no one else (not looking for it!) will.

ah now that sounds like a plan.

I did try a test are with a bit of heat to bring the teak's natural oils out but although I'm assured this works on solid teak it doesn't on a veneer - obvious really!

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers all,

Andy
