How to remove searchlight?

I've got a searchlight that I'd like to remove to lower the air draft of the boat. Ideally I'd like to do it in a way that I can quite easily place back in if I ever need to.

I have no idea how to go about doing this. Is there a bolt I can undo where I can slide it out? I tried undoing the big bolt (pictured), but there's an additional metal tube within.

Any advice greatly appreciated

In the top external picture is that a bolt / pin holding the lamp on the shaft?
If so, I would attack that.

Lovely things, but do you really need it? Would a hand-held lamp on a curly cable do the job?

Agree. Absolutely it would and I have one, but for some reason I can't quite bring myself to get rid of the searchlight just yet. Not permanently anyway...

Ok great I'm going to try that then and see if I can pull it up will have a crack over the weekend

Quick update - I managed to remove it over the weekend. The screw at the top didn't seem to have anything in it, I think maybe it was a place to insert grease? However, I finally worked out that if someone was holding the search light to stop it moving you could then unscrew the control handle. Once that was done you could just pull it out. Two person job

All done now, thanks for the help. Now I need to decide what to do with it!
