How to remove Gaffer Tape residue from hull?

Thanks for all the advice.
I’m laying up our boat in Greece, so have limited supplies. In the end a hot air gun and scraper to remove the bulk, followed by paint brush solvent/ thinners did the trick. Not sure what’s in the thinners- it’s all Greek to me.
Thanks for the feedback?

I think the stuff you need is trike, or trichloroethane. Its an industrial degreaser and hard to come by in UK bit may be easier to find in Greece.

It's magic but unfortunately also extremely nasty which is why it was banned years ago by international convention

We used to use it in aerosol cans! Whilst smoking!!! (Which results in the creation of chlorine gas apparently. The gods alone know how I'm still alive)

Isopropanol Alcohol, isopyopyle alcahol, or IPA is available from East Coat Fibreglass, 1 litre inc postage for £20.
Isopropanol Alcohol - East Coast Fibreglass Supplies

"Ideal for cleaning PCB's, optical equipment and other electronic parts and components.
Leaves a grease free surface with no residue."

You might find MEK Methyl Ethyl Ketone, also used as an solvent.

Surgical Spirit is: Ethanol 90%. Methanol 5% w/w. and Caster Oil. Will degrease but leaves an oily residue, no good if you want to paint and may leave smears.

A small bottle of solvent from B&Q or Homebase would suit the OP.
