Engine Volvo Penta TAMD61A. An oil filter can't move at all. Using a filter wrench tried half hour no any movement. The filter tin almost broken now after those tried. But still no any movement at all. It feels like it has super glue. Is it possible the last service guy really put glue? Any idea how to remove it?

Thanks

Just needs more force.

had the same issue once. Took a strap wrench (not those rubber band rubbish ones) with 1/2 metre breaker bar!

1. Put something to catch oil under filter.
2. Puncture filter with longest screwdriver you have.
3. Push screwdriver right through filter.
4. Twist off filter using screwdriver as a "T Wrench"
I’ve done this with oil and fuel filters. In extreme cases the screwdriver just chews up the filter and makes things worse. To make things even worse you’ve then rendered your engine inoperable.

Have a look at the thread "Fuel/Oil filter removal tool" posted 30th July on the PBO Reader to Reader,
it shows a range of different tools that can be used to removed a 'stuck' filter.
I agree with Jamie Dundee, using the screwdriver through the filter can end you up in a worse situation than not getting the filter off.

Poignard has the right idea. Where the base is joined to the top section is by far the strongest point and less likely to collapse under pressure with a good quality strap wrench. Jim

You can get something like a socket .Not 8 sided , but 16 , 22 or what ever .I use them with car spin on s .
Perhaps there is on for Volvo ?
If you look carefully the end will have multiple flats for this tool .

Thanks, mate.
Just job done. End up, the filter damaged one new filter wrench, and two screwdrivers get through it banded but still no movement. So the ultimate tool eventually removed the filter is a 3/4 inch diameter sold iron pole. I drilled two 3/4 inch hole in both sized and use that 3/4 inch iron go through it, then removed in seconds. Yes, it just need more force!

Now, the first time twin engine oil service finally done. Thanks a lot!
