Yanita was recently fitted with custom-made sails. They came without a sail number. The sail loft (not in the UK) could not tell me how to obtain a GBR sail number.
I'm only just come to terms with the idea of taking part in some club races, so I'm equally in the dark.

Please enlighten me.

Many thanks.

See <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.rya.org.uk/Technical/sailnos.asp>HERE</A> to obtain an RYA application form.

Somewhere on the web there is a listing of all currently assigned numbers - anyone know where?

It was discussed here recently - a search on sail numbers should do.

Hi Roger,

I finally dumped the increasing temperamental Penta 2003 (28hp). It turned into a financial black hole. So, I decided to bite the bullet, and had it replaced with a Yanmar 3JH4 (39hp). It's like having a new boat - soo much quieter, and doesn't stink the boat up when it's running. But for a more powerful engine, it uses less fuel -> very happy!

The mainsail I had was still the original Etap one (14 years old), baggy, dirty & held together with tape. Replaced with a full batten one. And since I had no money left... I decided to replace the Genoa as well. It only had two bits of tape, but looked on its last legs.

Sold the car (my other pride and joy) - and bought an old banger - to pay for this years repairs - major electrics overhaul, upgrade/replace all electronics, some hull & woodwork repairs, etc... . By X-Mas Yanita should be better than new. Apart from hull & mast there'll be very little of the original left.

All the best.

William

PS: we're going over to Ostend this Bank Holiday WE - already booked a berth with Robert. According to him it's very quiet now, so no problem to get a decent spot.
