How to learn in France?

I wonder if any of you who have experience on this side of the channel might be able to give me some advice. I am currently ex-pat, living in Paris. Since I tried it (for four days) on holiday last year I have been hoping to get back into sailing.

So, what I would really like to know is about schools over here and also where I might go to find weekend cruising and possibly racing experience. My ultimate aim is to be able to crew on bluewater passages.

Although I speak passable French, I'd rather learn and practice sailing in English: given the specialised terms I don't want to be looking in my dictionary when the boat is in danger of sinking!

Any tips much appreciated

Learn in France?

If you were prepared to consider learning in a French-speaking environment you could sail one of the world's great racing yachts with

One of the leaders in sail training is The Glenans Sailing School. They have schools in France, Scotland and Ireland. Many of their instructors are English.
Their headquarters are in the Isles de Glenans. They probably have an office in Concarneau.
