How to dispose of a derelict Halcyon 23?

Well, if you want it say so and take it away. In my opinion it'll cost significantly more than it's worth to fix in time or money. Personally I'd rather be on the water than working on another labour of love.
f someone wants it, PM me but if you're not 100% sure you want it don't mess me about-it's got to go. It's on a trailer that will need to be taken as well (and MAY be repairable but definitely isn't currently roadworthy) so it'll probably need a flatbed trailer rather than a car transporter to ensure the wheelbase will fit.

As far as I'm aware the rigging is complete. No idea about sails-there's one sail bag visible in the forecabin, but the chances of any sails being usable are slim to non-existent. There is definitely gelcoat work needed. Assume all the woodwork will need replacing and if you find any that's intact enough to use as a pattern it'll be a bonus.

However, I'm not responsible for what happens to it,and as long as it's removed I don't care if it gets stripped then cut up for a council tip burial or is repaired-as long as my friend doesn't have to pay to get it removed and it's not cut up in situ.

looks like an old Islander 23 to me too, originally had outboards in a well back end of cockpit, some were converted to inboards.

nos4r2 - don't even think about it!!!

I wasn't! :D No more projects!

It looks like this one has been converted to an inboard badly, then the inboard has been removed badly as well.

The drama may have only just started. It was collected, but it reappeared about an hour later, with one trailer axle beam collapsed, the wheels rubbing against the frame and the 'bunks' for the keels (if you can call them that) split along one edge.
Apparently the guy is getting a low loader to take it away. Good luck to him-I really can't see the trailer surviving winching onto a low loader.

Yikes! They tried to tow that trailer on the road!?!
Yes, it made it about half a mile. I suspect very strongly that it'll become a garden ornament for many years, or it'll feature on an RNLI launch vid if the level of common sense is anything to go by.

I would think that it's fixable for someone with time on their hands and not in a rush to get it back in the water. In the early 90's, I was looking for a project other than classic motorbikes / cars, so swopped a video camera for an 18 foot Seasafe Dandy with trailer, that was full of water and looked in a right sorry state. I saw the potential honest, though some of my friends did not  It took me almost a year to complete, new mast and sails sourced cheaply, a friend made two new bilge keels from thick steel. I also repaired and painted the trailer and refitted the cabin. It was looking like a new boat again. I eventually sold it to an old guy who had it for years afterwards.
