How to cut Eberspacher heating ducting?

If you are going through the lockers I strongly recommend that you use some form of thermal wrapping on the duct. There is a thinsulate tube that works very well. It will protect other things in the locker, and keep the air hot until it comes out the vents.

Use a sharp craft knife, tin snips or robust scissors. Make sure you insulate it - makes a difference. I cut up an old sun shield and used long cable ties - not pretty, but effective and out of sight anyway.

following advice on the forum we insulated ours by buying a hot water cylinder jacket which we were easily able to separate into strips which were pre wrapped in plastic and then bound round the ducting with cable ties - looks neat and tidy and seems to make a difference

Just a thought. I am still conducting my 'trials' on insulating eber exhausts. I am using the fiberglass type stocking as the first cover which reduces the temp considerably. Now I am looking for something to further reduce things. In previous threads we had comments about cylinder jacket insulation but must remember that this is designed for max water temps.
Even the warm air duct on the ebers gets up to 150 C so cylinder jacket stuff may not cope.

To keep cuts in any type of tube from hose to spiral neat. I put a jubilee clip round the hose and cut down the side of it with a hacksaw.

I've just installed a webasto and the exhaust going thorugh a bulkhead is an issue at present. I am concerned about scorching. We tried hot water insulation but it couldn't take the heat.

The webasto came with a 22mm stainles steel flexible exhaust hose along with a fiberglass sock to go over it. Where the hose is near the unit, the hose is too hot to touch - what can be used?

It's a problem. Have you thought about a bigger tube steel around the exhaust with fibreglass or some inert mineral powder (perlite or similar) between the two?

Get the next size ally or stainless ducting from an agricultural supplier (the sort of people who make hydraulic pipes and the like should have it), perlite from a garden centre. Good luck.

ps perlite is used when people 're-install' Agas. The original filler for Agas was crushed oyster shell!
