How to copy long www.etc etc etc etc

While trying to type in a very long www.etc etc etc address from a previous posting, which i got wrong twice, I found that if I highlighted the www address, clicked copy and then set the cursor in the box that I was trying to type in and then right clicked the mouse followed by "paste", low and behold there was the www address.

sorry to be such a dummy, I just never thought that the forum pages could be edited in such a fashion. PS don't be so high and mighty, i was only trying to help others who do not have your "in depth knowledge.

Hey, dont worry about this lot, most of them wear slip on shoes because they can't tie their own laces.

Peace, John, peace. I'm sure AW meant no offence. Did you not notice the 'smile' sign { :-)}. If its any consolation, I didn't know you could do what you described. Mind you I was only an IT Director with 4000 technical staff so perhaps could not be expected to understand how things work :-) Thanks for the tip, anyway.

No in-depth knowledge reqd; it's called 'cut or copy and paste' Didn't mean to sound high and mighty - I really thought it was some kind of joke and tried to convey that with :-).

There are more functional forums where the typed url / web address appears as link and all you do is click it and the url / web address opens in a seperate browser window.. but well what can I say ybw feels (by comparison) to be caveman culture by comparison..

Arthur wasn't being rude, he isn't like that, he was genuinely surprised. He (and everyone else) would assume that to 'cut & paste' is a first thing one learns, rather like going for your 1st driving lesson and being told to put the key in the ignition. When I first read your message I thought you were at the wind up which is something that happens frequently in this forum.

Nice to know that I'm not the only person in the world still learning, thanks for the tip.

Not knowing this basic function is similar to women and cars - you shouldn't be allowed near a computer, likewise women shouldn't be allowed................... ;¬)
