With the high demand and long waiting list on Volvo engineers and for the gained knowledge of being able to change my belts myself if one ever broke at sea I thought id have a stab at changing them all on our KAD44's and put a video up that could help others hopefully the pros like Volvo Paul and Spannerman wont cringe to much at a paper-pusher using spanners.

our engine bay has always been pretty grubby so I am slowly trying to clean it up a bit as well so with the belts off it seemed like a good idea to clean a bit at the same time

enjoy

Just a couple of observations ...

In some installations, both calorifier connections are taken off the thermostat housing and the elbows can prevent the alternator belt from being fitted after the compressor pulley has been fitted so, in this instance, remember to hang the alternator belt on the pulley as it’s fitted.

also, the 4 belts (or 3 if no power steering) must always be tensioned in the correct order to balance the loading:

1. Coolant
2. Alternator
3. Compressor
4. Power Steering (if fitted)
