On the boat today trying to adjust the volvo friction of the side mount throttle lever. Now I thought it was going to be straight forward, removed the lever cover and removed lever, but can't find the friction screw. It was done years ago and all I can remember was the Volvo guy taking the cover off etc.

Can anyone help me while I am still on the boat today.

This is a link to what the side mount looks like.

you need to pull the mechanism out. You will see a grub screw, it's labelled and obvious. Set friction at the half throttle point.

I must be missing something, I can access behind the panel but can't see anything obvious to adjust.

Okay, found a screw behind the yellow cover plate close to the top of the "circle where the lever slots into", not labelled.

are you sure you need to adjust the friction ?
do you need more or less friction ?

afaik
on a Volvo topmount lever, there is no friction adjustment, friction is created by the friction in the throttle cable,
last year, the friction on one of the levers was very stiff: throttle cable was bend too much...

Definitely a friction adjustment as I had the lever tightened up quite few years ago. I wanted to check this before doing anything else.
